Enjoy a day outdoors near Oliphant on the Bruce Peninsula! A short drive north of Sauble Beach and Sauble Falls you will find the Sauble Dunes Nature Reserve with Sand Dunes reaching for the sky! We were on our way to Oliphant when beside the road we noticed sand jutting out of the landscape with high hills, it drew us to stop and wiggle our toes in the soft white sand. Coming from an area know for farming this was a sight to be seen in Ontario. This is a great spot to take a break from driving to stretch your legs and feel the sand between your toes.
From Sand to Marshes, just up the road near Oliphant we discovered the Oliphant Fen. This wide boardwalk winds through the Fen, a marsh where flora and fauna thrive. The boardwalk was built to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers along its ¼ km path. The water is crystal clear and the animal life is active. Breathe in the fresh air while strolling along the boardwalk and learning about the Marsh with the interpretive panels.
It is worth the drive!
